I would bet, based on the vent picture you submitted, that "it" is a she. In fact I can see trace amounts of black plums developing on her dorsal fin which can be a strong indicator of a female. (Disclaimer: I know that males can also display black markings on their dorsal fins, so the markings on the dorsal fin are not a guarantee of gender) You had asked about the PN gene. In Thailand it stands for Best Pearl and Head. PN gene fish are rare here in the USA and finding a fertile one can be even more difficult. Both FH are looking good, but the suspected female is not looking like she is developing much of a kok.

They are not on or RK, like I said I got confused I talkedto my buddy a lot that day and that string came up in the conversation, that's where I got confused, they are actually ZZ string. I got them when they where little I picked the female purely based on her pearls and because I thought it was a female, I have to take another picture of her , she is showing sings of hard kok

Thanks

Female, is showing hard kok signs, and lots of reds, she has so much pearls it's hard to see the reds on her upper side. She's looking sweet

Male is also showing reds ☺

Your female looks male to me...especially in the following pic. Tube appears male:

Have you tried putting them together? That male would likely dance around her if it's a female.

I did once for a couple of good minutes, the male started dancing around her, like my big SRD did with my female kamfa. Rubbing against her and slapping her with his tail. Reminded me of when I paired up my bigger FH

Nice, the males kok has grown a lot since your last post. If you are letting them spend time together make sure it is closely supervised. Don't leave them together for more then a few mins at a time unsupervised in case they start tearing each other apart. If that one fish is female you should see her egg tube start to descend as she spends more time around the male. Assuming that fish is a female and fertile and you want to try to speed egg development and have her lay eggs in a shorter time frame, give them both Hikari frozen blood worms every other day for one of their meals. This seems to help get the male and female in the mood, and females tend to develop and lay eggs faster with the blood worms incorporated into their diet.

Thanks, I don't let them spend time together but his creeping game is strong while staring at her through the holes LOL, she's laid eggs once and beat up my big Add make pretty decent on his kok, maybe in the future but this little guy is too little for her she would probably destroy him :).

Right now my SRD is paired up with my female golden base, but she's never laid eggs yet. I am feeding her bloodworms every other day to see if that works . Those two are a good pair no aggression that I've seen.
