They need to eat all the time. Must be a constant supply of black worms or brine shrimp. YEs they are very fragile. I would say 95% the are imported neve make it to adult hood:(

i believe oddball stuffed his sponge filter with blood worms ( or some type of food ) and the african arow grazed on that when he was hungry. Try keeping live bloodworms in there or even baby brine shrimp?

hey ya dude in my oppinion there not that hard to keep. all u need to do is feed um alot and thell be fine. i feed mine brine shrimp, BLOOD WORMS, flake, pellets, and DAPHNIA. he likes the blood worms and daphnia the best. im gonna introduce him to some new things soon. people say so feed them blackworms as staple but he doesnt even know what it tastes like, ive never givin him any. his feeding schedule is 2 cubes of blood worms and 2 cubes of daphnia and some flake at 7am, then when i get back from school i feed him 1 cube at 3pm, then i feed him 1 cube at 7pm. just do that and in like 2 to 3 months he will be 8" just like mine.
good luck.

oh and a few more things. get a sponge filter. when hes small like 3"-6" do a water change every 3rd or 4th day, u can slow down to 1 once a week when hes like 7"-8".

IMO, they're NOT easy to keep. follow the advice given, feed constantly, change water regularly, and don't be upset if it dies.
