Hello everyone. I moved at the end of January and was able to re do the plumbing on my 180 gallon tank. I had 3 1inch bulkheads drilled on the end of the tank and lost the CPR HOB overflow box. I am extremely happy! The CPR was losing a siphon every day and just drove me up the wall with the bad look and loud noise.

This new setup works great for the location of the tank in my new apartment. I have 2 drains and 1 return that run through my sump.

This is the day I got it set back up so excuse the messy tank I had no time to make it look good at the time.

Well that enough talk. On to the pix! Let me know what you think of my set up. (my home made canopy is falling apart and I am building a new one in March that will be a much better design.

Oh and I want to give a HUGE shout out to GLASS HOLES.com! A+++ company!

Nice setup. Whats the reason for the tub? How do you get flow from the non-Overflow side of the tank? Seems the return will only push water so far before it gets sucked back in the return.

I use the tub so most of the sentiment gets in there and not my sump. The tub takes 10 minuets to drain and washout without losing beneficial bacteria. As well as it gives me room for some ceramic rings and a sponge filter to suck the sediment down.

I have an air stone on the far end that is working well. When I first started running it I did notice like you said it was not getting any flow on the surface at the far end. The air stone is working well but I need a bigger air pump and another stone down there.

I would say put a powerhead fown there but it would look ugly.

Yeah I know that is what i am trying to avoid the look. I have no wires or anything on the 3 visible sides on the tank.

I have a power head under the return to help push the water from the return out into the tank. I want to add 1 or even 2 more power heads on that wall and push the water out away from the drains.

I think even 3 power heads 1 under each bulkhead on the short end would look fine. I just don’t want anything on any of the 3 visible walls.

Thats pretty slick man, only thing I could really suggest is that white (egg crate?) you used to block the openings in your hood, hit those things, along with the pvc thats in the tank with some black paint and it will really finish it up.

This might be a long shot. Could you put 2 more powerheads down the Drain side of the tank. and attach tubing to run under the sand then up in the corners of the visible side?

The openings are from 2 HOB's I had on the tank when it was on a wall. I got rid of them when I moved. The egg crate is only there till I re build my canopy in March.
