I did worry about that when I first came up with this ideah but no. I am just under 6 foot and I sink down in the couch far enough that I can lay my head back all the way and am a good 6inches from the tank.
How would have u done it if u had three holes drilled in the bottom of the tank and one drilled inside of a middle over flow which is also on the bottom . The two intakes are on the back side at each end of the tank.
hope you have a written thumbs up from property mgt... if not... let me know how it goes when they sue you for damages after they do some investigating as to why the drywall on the ceiling cracked on the first floor....
In this situation depending on the direction of the floor joists he could be in a big issue the way that tank is situated.. However its possible he thought it out really well and planned for that.

Bingo! it is crossing the floor joists not running with them. There is a concreat floor under it as well. I was explained that it has to do with the fire code for the apartment. And yes i have it on paper from them that I can have it on the second floor (they know how big itis as well).
