got a great deal on a 75 gallon today, i am very happy. some may have seen me posting on here talking about agression and injurys, well no more, i have them seperated now and its working so well. i used one established canister and a large dose of cycle just to make sure everything would be fine and im happy to say no more agression, all the peaceful guys are in the 75 and its working. one female severus, an acara, a senegal bichir and a black ghost knife, all of which were getting beat up real bad. now i just need to get more agressive fish to cohabitate with my other agressives in the 125,which is one true parrot, uknown pike and a very mean green severum. anyone have suggestions for some more agressive fish for my 125, i know i want some kind of catfish and more cichlids, anyway, im exausted, ill post pics of the new tank tomorrow, so, give me suggestions for slightly more agressive fish that would hold up with a true parrot, pike and very very nasty green severum

pics, day one so the fish are still hiding

considering its mostly SA with the sev, pike, and parrot, why not try to add something like a red hump eartheater (preferably a male) or a chocolate cichlid (if the parrot tolerates it)

yeah, i was thinking chocolate cichlid, but i dont know, what ive read says there rather tame, dont know if it could hold up with the parrot, anyone with a chocolate have any advice? also, ive never had an oscar, would an oscar go well with the parrot?

chocolates and oscars have about the same aggression, although IME the oscars are just more active and outgoing

As for the catfish, if you want an aggressive one, go with a Clarius Barachtus.
I have one, and it is without questions the meanest SOB i have ever seen in any tank.
once lights go off, he starts his rain of terror!!

You could have him if you lived in Denmark, hehe. I'm going to sell him to a LFS, since my cichlids can't really cope with him, even though some of the cichlids are much bigger.

Have you seen the big chocolate at the Wet Spot? They have it in a big tank on the left side of the store half way down. Its in with oscars so you could watch how it interacts with other before buying.

Do you know if you have a male or female psittacus? David503bk has one that he might send your way and he's local to us as well. I think its male from talking with the previous owner tonight but that's a guess. Another psittacus could work.

i would love another psittacus, i dont know if mine is male or female, its about 7-8 inches long right now, how do you tell the sexes apart, from what ive read theres not any reliable way, i hope im wrong about that. and yes, i have seen the big chocolate at the wet spot, its been there for months, i was actually thinking about that one, but i need to wait a few days before i have money to go down there. but yeah, my psittacus is my favorite fish, love it, so if there is a way to sex it please tell me, i was planning on trying to breed it when i get a 240

actually, to hell with waiting for more money lol, im going to the wet spot today, ill lok at that chocolate and whatever else they have, ill be sure to post pics of whatever i end up getting
