i would love another psittacus, i dont know if mine is male or female, its about 7-8 inches long right now, how do you tell the sexes apart, from what ive read theres not any reliable way, i hope im wrong about that. and yes, i have seen the big chocolate at the wet spot, its been there for months, i was actually thinking about that one, but i need to wait a few days before i have money to go down there. but yeah, my psittacus is my favorite fish, love it, so if there is a way to sex it please tell me, i was planning on trying to breed it when i get a 240

I just got my first psittacus last night so I can't answer how to sex them because I am still doing my homework on them, sorry. Maybe Sean or Peter would jump in and give some advice. What did you end up getting, anything?

i picked up the chocolate that was at the wet spot, beautiful fish. Its pretty shy though right now, im gonna completlly rearrange/add things to the tank tomorrow to try to cut down on the parrots agression. is your parrot as brutish as mine, ive had mine a while so he feels completlly at home and yours is new so, not sure how much can be seen at this point. im confident from watching them tonite that the parrot isnt gonna actually hurt the chocolate at all, just chase him. but really, i do need to make the tank decor more "complex" its pretty simple right now so i think the parrot assumes its territory is the whole tank, so anyway, im happy with the pickup, so now i just need a, or a few smaller, catfish to finish the stocking

a few day one pics, as you can see hes got some bite marks from the oscars and big pikes he was with at the wet spot

That's not bad at all. It will heal quickly. I can't say for aggression because I'm on day two but the previous owner "fallin49er" kept this one because it was calmer than the other he had. There is a little chasing but no aggression at all so far.

If you are looking for more decor and catfishes, I have a 7" pleco, 6" pictus catfish and a 6" raphael catfish that you can have free if you wanna pick up. PM me and they are all yours. I also have a box of fake plants and rocks etc... if you want them but they need a good washing. Just let me know. :D
