in that case i would say a leitcharti arowana which is an aussie aro but not as nuts at the jardini. they cost a bit more but have that rarer fish factor as not too many people have them but they are available.
you could keep a black aro for a while but as advised it will outgrow a 200 and a silver gets even bigger.
the aussie aros get nowhere near to south american aro sizes so a a much better prospect.
If you're getting a silver or black, at least get a tank that's 2.5 or 3 feet. But if you're limited to 2 feet of width, which is absolutely the minimum width for any aro keeper, then go for what DiXoN suggested.
If you can afford a tank with a 3 or 4 foot width you would be better off but a 200 would be good for a reasonable length of time. Then again buying two tanks is far more expensive than just getting the right one in the first place.
