yeah because i put a divider in my tank to grow out my afros. so the afro has 3'x2'x2' to swim but once hes big enough hes gonna be in a 240 gallon
 
congrats... afro will eat like pigs. feed em black worms, bloodworms, small pellets and even small peices of cut up shrimp. as for WC's just do the same thing youve been doing.
 
yeah i think imma do the same 40-50% but instead of once a week like usually imma do one every 2-3 days.

do waterchange first thing every 3rd day
feed afro, do waterchange before last meal
feed afro, do waterchange after last meal

also should i starve my afro after the waterchange for the day, or continue feeding
 
I had 5 Leis together and yes they did kill eachother... the last one I had, I tried to be extra carring w/him and I think I killed him from to many water changes. I had the last one for about 1 week solo... then he croaked on me about 30min after his last W/C... I was doing 30% every 3 days w/prime for the total tank volume. I would like to say I stressed him out or the tap water was to much for him as he was still a baby (3-4"). I would stick to a normal weekly schedule unless you dont have a bare bottom tank. JMO :) G/L


Also, it sounds like you realy like this guy and putting to much thought into it... I dont think it makes a diff if you feed before or after the water change. If it matters, I feed before the water change so any extra food can get taken out asap (especially w/pellets)
 
once a week should be fine also i agree with feeding before because of leftover food
