Already got a true tire track. They are much easier to train to eat prepared fppd than the fire eel. King Ed got them for dirt cheap. Bought mine at $9 at 10 inches. Now at 14 inches and eats like a pig.

oh no worries , i get comments on it all the time , when people come over , even tho i have much more expensive and rare fish ..lol

What do you guys mean when you say "true" tiretrack eel? Is it something different from the TT spiney eel?

There are two common tire track eel seen in the hobby. One is M. Favus and we call it the true tire track and the other is M. Armatus which is the one on the pics. Howerver there are more species with the name tire track eel. I think there are 6 species but the M. favus and M. armatus are the most common tire track eel.
