New aros !

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
B_in_SD separated his trio of blacks while they were young, so if you do separate them you may be able to still combine them down the road. I currently have four arowana living in harmony and none of them were housed together while juvies. There is just no set method of housing arowana together, what works for some doesn't work for others.

Good luck with your trio.
Thanks for the help ! I agree comptley !

Blacks do not compare to silvers. I also have several together, as you know...

But each case is as it is, you are right there.

Another item of concern and you may already know. Arowana jump, leading cause of death with arowana is dried up on the floor next to the tank. So if you have not already done so, cover seal and secure the top lid of your tank.

Seems like no matter how much this is repeated, many a dried aro appear on a weekly basis.

IME just as bad, I started with five baby blacks together in a 55g. Within a couple days one had been killed. Separated and grew out, but two I was able to get to co habitat. Tried to add a third with the pair and the beat it to near death overnight. It didn't die, but the beating had it's affects as it didn't really grow over the next few months and then just died suddenly despite that it was eating.

If really is interesting how guys with comparable know how in a breed reach sometimes completely different conclusions. Amazing, and i mean it seriously, not as a joke.

Oh, I agree. Just goes to show you how unpredictable arowana are when trying to house them in a community or in pairs.
