I bought this guy to try and save him. I haven't gotten a good picture yet but I will try to get one. His scales are beat up looking, little bit of fin rot and he's missing an eye. I guess you could say I like to buy fish I feel bad for as I purchased an eyeless gold clown knife. What's the best thing to treat these wounds with. It looks like he has a little bit of his gill missing on his beat up side. Will this grow back? Should I put some Epsom salt in? He's in a hospital/ghost shrimp tank right now. If he eats the ghost shrimp I don't really care lol. What's the dosage for treating with salt? He's just in a 5 gal at the moment until he's healthy enough to go in my 75 gal. Any help is appreciated. Thank you

1tablespoon per five gallons and keep the water very clean.

Keep the level constant, replace what you remove with water changes.

Man he looks rough. Baby aros in general are pretty fragile. Hope he pulls through.

Yea something roughed him up pretty good. My LFS owner told me when they're little you have to really baby them. He told me to drop my water level down a good bit so if the aro needs to find food at the bottom he can. He's eating bloodworms and freeze dried krill. He hasn't eaten for me yet but I watched him eat at the store. I'm just trying to get him back to health really. Once he doubles in size they are hairy hardy from what I've read.

Yup once he gets about 8 inches he'll be pretty solid. The 3-6" is when they usually die. Seems like you're doing well so far, let us know if he eats.
