New Arowana

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
If ur water conditions are all good and ur tanks cycled then relax. He's probly getting use to his new home i just moved my Aro from his old home to his new and he won't eat. And when i got him when he was 6 inches he didn't eat for over a week. If he's Eatting crickets keep feeding him chrickets till he is Eatting well and hit 8-9 inches before tring to starve him to introduce new foods. These fish can live a long time without food.

One of my aros is about 6" and he makes a big fuss on eating... i know he will come around .... we just need to relax with them... and dont go the live feed way.. cause they then get stubborn...
previously he used to eat only pellets... only when i fed him live feed he started this drama... now all that i give him is few blood worms and pellets he seems to be learning again...

The thing is that the first time I had an Arowana it was cool cuz I always had him on blood worms and pincher bugs from my back yard and from there I states giving him a few dead gold fish that would float on the top and some dried up shrimp until I was able to get him on market shrimp but this guy is picky

Any luck or update on your arow's fussy feeding habits? I wouldn't feed any dead goldfish (why dead btw?) or pincher bugs from your backyard, unless you know for sure there isn't any pesticides or unhealthy hazardous chemicals in that area. Even if you think it "may be safe"... I wouldn't chance it.

What shop in San Jose did you pick up from btw?

Yeah my Arowana is doing great and is eating dried up shrimp. And I bought her at kings aquarium of story road. Now my question would be, I have my silver in a 55 and I am planning to build a plywood tank but my question is, could I have 2 silver Arowanas in that tank around the same size while I build the other tank?
