:headbang2 Got my first arowana last night. My better half gave it to me as an early Christmas present. It is a silver about 8 inches long. It is amazing. I don't think the move from the fish store to home stressed it at all. I cut one of the fish tank lights off and floated him for about 20 minutes. Then i added some tank water to its bag, waited, add more water. When i released it, it swam out of the bag and swam around gracefully the remainder of the evening. This morning I checked on it before coming to work and it looks great. Can't wait to get home. Pics... I know, but no camera.

The fish store had it on feeders and blood worms. I hope it takes to pellets pretty easy. Should i continue to feed it feeders and add pellets along with the feeders, or should i just start feeding it pellets? I really don't want to keep it on feeders.

starve him for a bit then feed pellets or, see if he will take the pellets first. i wouldnt risk feeding a precious fish live or any fish at all

congrats on your new aro.

be sure to cover all your openings! i would add a mixture of pellets first THEN some worms/feeders then slowly add less and less feeders...

congrats on the new aro. they can be life long friends outlasting almost any tank you can offer them. with the possibility of 40+ years of life, im sure he'll serve you well as a fish companion. take good care of him

Yeah, i've got the tank well covered, so there won't be any escapes.
Today is taking so long. I can't wait to get home. It's killing me.:(

I'm going to try the pellets when i get home. I have some convicts that might be big enough in a week or two to use as feeders, but i'm not using comets or rosies. Hopefully i won't even have to use the convicts.

Congrats! Good Luck with the Aro. It's going to be fun to have around!

atm i know exactly what you mean! its sooo cool to get your first aro and see it swim gracefully through the tank! i got my first this sunday so :)
