real sorry about this

i don't think it would have been PH more the way the fish was caught and shipped

if it was caught in a net that doesn't help you must catch them in bags its the best and safest way to catch any aro

its such a shame it was a nice red

as george announced earlier it has died :cry::cry::cry:

This aro has been with it's previous owner for nearly 3 years raised in a small tank on it's own in very, very soft water at a ph 6.4 and my tank is about 4 times the size with many other fish, very hard water and a ph of 7.2. Thrashed about a lot when the guy caught it but felt with such a hardy fish as hp points out that with slow acclimatisation and good quality water it would not be a problem. I guess i was wrong. When it entered the tank it seemed very lethargic and spent it's time sitting normally near the surface but with very little movement altho not breathing heavily and so I felt that once he settled he'd be fine. Woke up this morning and he was exactly where he was when i went to be except upside down. I am devastated. A dream fish gone. :(

RIP my super red. You were amazing. If only for 1 day.

:( sucks..

I know the feeling all to well of loosing something that just lasted for not even a day. Years back I bought a Lince Cat that I was only able to enjoy for a few hours =-(

I feel your pain

and so does the guy :( who owned this 25.5" RTG

After waiting for a few weeks I finally picked up a fish that i've wanted since seeing pictures of one years and years ago, a super red arowana. Many thanks to george aka pufferxtreme for finding this amazing fish for me. It is massive. Around 22", very thick set and about 3yrs old. Settling in at the moment and it'll take time as it's come from very different water parameters to mine in ph and hardness and also it has been on it's own in a tiny tank and now it finds itself in a big community. my big widebar is showing it who's boss at the moment so it's yet to grace me with it's beauty in full flight and so i'll reserve taking many pics til it has fully settled but thought i'd give you this teaser to show you just how good the colour is. It really does take my breath away just how red it is and this is just hours after entering the tank.

Enjoy.
Nice fish, need a lot of tanning.

Opps, sorry about the lost.

Luc

thats one monster aro you got there
sorry for the loss

So so sorry, terrible news

Terrible news whenever you hear a pet has passed especially when it never really got the chance to enjoy it's new owner....hopefully you will get another one in the future as no matter how much I want one over here, I can't.
