A good try there MUSKE. First part is correct but not a fenestratus.
Dit sal lekker wees om te kan skinner sonder dat die Amerikaners vir ons kan verstaan.
I buy my Malawi's, all Wild caughts, from a contact in Cape Town. He has a conact at the Lake so it is lekker. What a great descriptive Afrikaans word that one is!
Had one of my other Nim. Livingstoni pick off two of my fish. This fish has grown up on flake and pellets and since taking him from the 800l to the shop 1000l it has suddenly decided it wants to eat the other fish. 1st one it ate was about 3-4cm and the one it caught yesterday was about 6-7cm. Could not believe it was able to open its mouth so wide. Has now been sent into "solitary confinement" in a compartment of the one sump filter I have. Will be taught how to eat flake food again.
I need to build a 2m tank so I can put all these fish into it and they can then swim on their own. Have 6 new wild caughts to go with 5 or 6 other fish.

Hehe soos jy wel gesien het gooi hulle die afrikaans deur `n vertaler en dan weet hulle nog steeds wat mens se hehe.

Ah I almost thought as much about the contact. Are Malawi's kept by many people in South Africa nowadays?

I love Livingstoni!!

Sounds like a Livingstoni just being a livingstoni....

Now try to get a vid. of him feeding:naughty:

I have spent some time, these past couple of days, just watching these new fish. Unlike the ones bred in captivity they are truly wild. The bigger one swims around looking for ambush spots. Has one spot where it literally lies on its side waiting for some of the fry/smaller fish to swim by. The colouring of these is unbelievable compared to my other fish.
It is quite something to watch the other fish give it a wide berth, especially the much smaller ones.
Yes there are more and more people starting to realise the absolute beauty of these fish. I recently opened a Pet Shop, here in George, and have sold quite a few Malawi's. I breed some 60-70 species at home.
I must try and get a shot of another fish that I put into the 1000l show tank in the shop. Had these two males in a 2,4m tank that was divided by a glass partition. Since putting them, together with 4 females, into the show tank the one male has not stopped showing his dominant colouring. It is something that all stop and admire. Stunning fish.
Will be looking at some yellow fin Acei that will be coming in early June. The contact is off to the South Eastern side of the Lake. Eccles reef area.
