i just bought my first Asian Red-tailed catfish at my LFS today for $14.99!!!!!!! he's around 5" now and a beautiful fish.... any and all info on these guys would be appriciated. he's in a 55g for now until he grows it out. thanks guys!!!

Congrats and good luck on your asian RTC. i did not succeed to raise mines (wild caught 7-8" specimens). Like to hides, eats small fish (loves earthworms), can be taught to eat pellets (mines did in any case), gets quite big (the ones i have seen in the market are quite impressive), gets bullied by normal RTC .... not a bad staple fish (sorry i had to say that one)

does anyone have any idea on how fast i can expect this guy to grow? he looks bigger already and his colors have dramatically improved!!
right now he's in a 55gallon tank and he's a good 5". once he is big enough he will be moved up to a 90gallon and so on. and yeah, he already has his territory picked out and doesn't let anyone near it.
