I suspect you're right about that. The growth rate really took off on mine when I got him eating pellets, too. If I was able to get him eating pellets right away and not three months later, I truly believe he'd be another two inches or so longer.
I'v tried hikari cichlid gold, carnivore sticks and sinking predator pellets but so far nothing, its only been 4 day tho and he has shown some interest but he just took a beating from a small achara catfish, I am gutted I really hope he makes it, think I'm gonna sell all my cats and grow everything else out to a decent size 1st. I will update if he dies or recovers

I don't normally but this thing is as small as the ATF, lesson learned, I'm giving up with catfish for a while now

Thanks, I only had him just over 3 weeks and he was already 1 of my favourites, the only good thing is that I will never underestimate a catfish again, I'm even nervous about plecos now lol
