lots of the LFS's reply with "it's wild caught" when customers say "wow, that costs a lot"
there were 3 azuls couple weeks back asking 375usd each. one was around 5-6", other 2 around 4". i bought the smaller 2 for 300 (which i posted for positive ID here on MFK). for some reason they were a lot bluer at the store. may be it's my lights
In HK, with rarer high end(ish) fish, there's usually a developed relationship with LFS and their VIP customers. So you take their word for it but always double check. Got to jump on rarer fish, cos they're usually gone day or so after arrival. Most LFS's I've dealt will refund the customer if harder to ID fish are found the fish is a phoney and it's agreed before hand that this is the deal.
