I just bought a green arowana, the lfs here called it the Irian arowana, for just $7, good price? Its the lowest quality of asian arowana here, and the cheapest too, but I am happy with it.
Its so small, only about 2", currently in a grow out tank 20g,
could I give it pellets only?

dam.. which country are u at???????? Thats like dirt cheap..

I wouldnt give them pellets.. baby arowana need to slowly learn that its food..

Give them crickets, if ur LFS sells them.. or bine shrimp/ blood worms.. Then slowly feed them pellets..

what a great deal ..any arowana for $7 is a deal.. silvers here are $20 but an asian for $7
please post pics...

I am in indo, they have all the arowana most people want here, but I couldnt afford them, so I bought the cheapest one, but it still good. I have an empty 100g tank, would it be enough to house this type of aro for life?
cheers

I would like to post some pics, but, the aro is very small, I am afraid we cant even see much from it, besides I can only take shots from my phone, but I'll do my best, pics are coming up soon.

Just learnt this today too. Apparently, Jardini's can be found in Irian Jaya as well?

Anyway, yes, please post some pictures. We get many juvenile silvers and jars here, but I have never seen any that small!

here are some pics, I took these from my phone, pls excuse the quality

looks great , word of caution.. if you gonna feed him crickets or insects rather pull the legs of first ,ive seen with small arowana the legs can cut the insides or get stuck .then the arowana gets bloated and could get swim bladder infection .
good luck ,nice find

thanks, I searched the lfs here, super red cost around $250, size about 6", is that a good price? red tail cost less, only $30. I'm thinking to buy the super red one if thats a good price.
