all he does is sleep :)

wood chips out sand in ..... they like to dive bomb on crickets, and could swallow a piece of bark. That will be the end of the little guy.

I catch your drift and its a stinky attitude, thinking you know it all; specially when you just mentioned its your first lizard. Good luck buddy, dont come crying on here when hes got problems because of your husbandry. Catch my drift?

bearded dragons are desert lizards so sand is a better subsetrate ,also i agree with varanio.
also dont argue with a moderator.
cool lizard by the way ,i had a rhino iguana when i was 5!

i dont understand how i was giving u an aditude?
i really wasnt trying too

The attitude that I speak of isnt about the way you typed your statement. Its about what your statement meant. To me the statement you made, makes me think that you dont really care about the health of your animal. We dont make these things up ( those that have more experience with herps) we tell you these things so you and your animal can share successes. You have success because your animal is kept healthy, and the animal has success because he got to live a normal, life and didnt die prematurely because of your mistake. In captivity we the keepers, choose where our animals live, in nature the get to choose because they have the ability to travel vast areas. Here they are stuck in a box, now its your turn to think outside of the box and provide your bearded with the home it truly deserves. And if you really did your research, there would be noone condoning them being on bark.

my local reptile store is owned by a herptoligist
he told me to use bark
im sorry you werent theyre to correct him
i really think you need to take a chill pill
your to easily offended
i dont care how much you know about reptiles you need to treat me with respect also
im not trying to argue with u
im just trying to show off my new lizzard
you can stop posting on this thread now please
and i would like to stop talking about this insident

I totally agree, plus wood chips are made for more tropical species and hold in more humidity then your beardie needs. And even if you didn't mean to argue with Varanio, keep in mind that he's been keeping and breeding this species of lizard for years and would never steer you in the wrong direction. :)

put sand in.. they are from the desert.. i think there is sand there?

you will hold in way to much humidity with the bark. which can lead to problems down the road.. not a good thing. sand is cheap, easy to clean, looks better(natural), serves a better purpose, and it will help keep his nails trimmed down a bit if he digs around a bit;)
