New baby dat. ID please. It's my first one!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
We don't have the aro's anymore. We have a baby one that is about 6" And we have the 14"+ gars and a couple bichirs. What do you think about the planted tank and the tankmates? ^^^

Mine are currently in a planted tank, and like to hide in the leaves of an amazon sword plant, or under the arch of a piece of driftwood. They come out of hiding pretty quickly when I walk up to the tank, since they know I'm likely to feed them.

They'll do fine in a planted tank.

You'll definitely need to wait til they're larger if you intend to put them in a tank with a 14" gar, though. They'll eat some amazingly large fish...

i have my dats in a plastic planted tank with a "huge" rock pile in it...they were divided as follows 3 stable 2 unstable before the rocks...added rocks...5 stable more active and growing like weeds...i feed black and blood worms with some guppies as a treat...if you want i could do a pic of the set up...but that will be at your request as i don't want to take over your deal...

Yeah I would love to see pictures. Thank you guys. Also, since they like to be in groups should I get some other small tank mates for him? Or will he be okay alone? There was only one left at the LFS.

Very nice, he has an odd pattern.

i guess we have a similar taste in patterns..i got mine all with little diff patters...i even found a split bar that i picked up...i am uploadin a few pics now for ya...
