just got a 4'' jar. impulse buy but i need another aro. i know the risks with jars (i.e. tankmates, size) but i'd like to know if it is wise to try to get him on pellets right away. i've had him for three days and he's not fed yet. im using hikari pellets, bloodworms.

the lfs said he was eating feeders, crappy pellets and bloodworms. should i give it some time or be afraid that he may starve?

tried flakes. she may have taken a couple nibbles. perhaps she did because now she's comfortable/strong enough to eat FREEZE DRIED KRILL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hit it with some power too.

i hope she'll eat crickets, i'll be throwing in lots of stuff for her to try and to keep her from becoming addicted to krill. my polys will take care of the leftovers. heeheh.

put in FD krill and my jar left it alone. put in crickets and he's content on just striking at them but not eating them. at least he's interested.

jar is eating more but i noticed that his barbels are gone now. there is a jag i almost completely forgot about in there (he's so small) that's been tagging him every so often in the tail. could he be the aggressor?

i find that my jardini doesn't eat at all when he's stressed out. even when he's in a divider but can see the aggressor. careful of tankmates.

pellets are fine. the bloodworms opens its appetite and pellets afterwards gets him full.

i got my jar to eat pellets. hai feng aro pellets. i did the bloodworm with pellet feeding. hit about 5 pellets. its a start. he's got food in him! i also moved him to a 29 gallon by himself (hospital tank). he ate that same night 30 minutes after the move.

I just starve them for about a day and then I will throw in one or two pellets. If he refuse to take, I will repeat this the other day. And 3rd day itself they usually will try to take in one or two pellets.

humm... mine took chicken heart right away and still cries for them.

just be careful if he's skittish, they damage themselves easily...
