New baby midas/RD

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dang! I thought something looked different about this little guy today... When I took a closer look, I realized all the red in his eyes has disappeared literally overnight! Aren't they weird creatures?

Update...

Looking better with every new pic. My new one is a little smaller than yours. You have picked out a good sized tank too. Will he be alone for life or will you form a pair in the future?

Thanks, I'd love to see pictures of yours!

Nah, he'll be alone. I'm not interested in breeding. I tend to baby my fish so the violence associated with breeding makes the situation too stressful for me.

I will probably add some dithers, though. Can't decide between silver dollars or giant danios. Hmm, decisions decisions...

Man that is a great looking fish! keep posting pictures tracking the growth.

I personally like silver dollars, a school of 6+ big red hooks look awesome.

I'll post some pics after I move him to his new tank. I don't think I'll be breeding him either. Good luck with the dithers. I don't think I'll be adding any with my RD. He has already killed and eaten six danios. I guess he's destined to be a loner.

Thanks for the compliment! This little dude certainly is full of himself-- he loves posing for pictures and charges at the camera.

I think I will go with silver dollars :)

Mine has killed a few danios too :( I'm hoping he'll mellow out with the extra square footage, but I'll have to wait and see.

He's looking good as always. Nice stand the new tank is going to be awsome.

Wooo! I took the little doofus out and measured him today-- exactly 4". A month ago he was exactly 3". He's growing fast!
