I just found out the Hap Obliquidens is extinct ... what they call the Hap zebra Obliquidens is the Atstatitilapia latifasciata ..so that is what i have ... he is not actually from lake victoria but a tiny lake right near Lake victoria 
He is a Haplochromis sp. thick skin and this is what a mature male looks like..now i can sleep , haha !

"red tail" "thickskin" ..".redtail No 44 "Obliquidens zebra" "all these names are the same fish..... they sell them with these names and also with the ObLiquidens Hap name..The Obliquidens name is the only totally incorrect name because this fish is extinct and never even brought to public so never left the lake... we have a fish with many names haha...a little bit more of what i read.."Red tails " display a whole spectrum of colors ..unrivaled by any other species.......and what is most interesting about these colors is they are continually changing ..males will light up at young ages..and light up for other males as they are jealous types and display color to be better and more intense.. The blue/black is very intense at a young age and as they mature the reds and oranges become intense..they grow to 5 inches..i found all this info in the cichlid forum profile section.
wow! couldve fooled me! he looks like alot of fish from lake victoria (the black bars, and yellow and red markings)--now you know what he is!
