I know, huh? I wish they kept it.. but I am pretty sure that is there "juvie" pattern.. you know they are young when they are displaying it.. Heres some before and after pix one of my other retics that had that pattern.. excuse my poor photography.

Miles - Do your Retics have a varied diet? I have always had trouble getting them to take anything but blackworms. I think that I am going to get a 1:2 batch and hand them over to my friend that breeds discus for one of his display tanks. It will only work though if they accept what he feeds, BW, mysis, beefheart, and pellets. He does not use blackworms for obvious reasons. He is getting the bug for a stingray b/c of mine, so I figured set him up with some retics b/c of the adult size bonus! Yeah, off track, so... what do you feed?

Blackworms, Bloodworms and Mysis when they were smaller.. now they pretty much just get Krill, and occasionally the previous 3, but they show less interest as they want large chunks of meat now.

I am hopefully going to wean them onto pellets soon.. I've tried "all of the above" seafoods.. and they sometimes eat small chunks of silversides or mussels, but will hold out for krill anyday.. they LOVE the texture of it from what I can tell.

Miles, May I ask what you plan on retailing CB retics for once you breed them?

Keep up the good work!

I dunno? Not much considering the market value on them is blah. Not over $100..

I am more interested in crossing them with another small ray (hystrix, scobina) and charging more for them.. :D

what about the motoro cross??? i still want first dibs on one of them...

at the moment I have a pair of retics. The female is 8 inches and the male is about 9inches. Im excited to try and breed them. How big are yours miles? also what were yours being sold for? Its very hard to get stingrays here and I get retics for about $50 wholesale. And motoros for $100-150 depending on size. But in a lfs the retics sell for 100-150 and the motoros from 175-250. Im just glad I have a part time job at my lfs :D. The only problem im finding breeding them is that the males claspers are growing very slowly. Is it possible he could just have small claspers lol and still be mature? bec it look like he has almost like packets of sperm i think, next to were the claspers connect to the body. Idn lol i was just wondering if a ray could have small claspers and still be mature, for ex. some humans have bigger privates than others lol

i also have a motoro male with them that is about 10 inches, so i could get a cross. im just worried about stressing out the female. Bec before she would love her krill and fbw and now she only likes the fbw?
