Chinchillas actually have a pretty long gestation period compared to most rodents. 3.5-4months.
They also tend to have small litters. Pretty common for twins, and rare to have more than 4 in 1 litter.
the babies are born fully furred, eyes open, and ready to run around and bounce as soon as they're dry. I have a 3 month old female I'm gonna pair up with this guy as soon as he's mature enough. They always do alot better in pairs.
 
Wow, I better not let my girlfriend see this post or I'll be buying a chinchilla lol.
