My vet called me the other day wanting to know if I wanted another snake. I said sure. She is beat all up but is the sweetest thing.

Apparently one of the vet techs saw someone toss it from their car window. At least she's in good hands now. Because of all her scaring and wounds I have decided to name her Wallet as it looks like someone tried to turn her into one.

On a separate note my male ball python decided I looked like a rat when I was putting water in his cage.

Someone tossed it out of a moving car window?

I would have followed the car and would probably be in jail by now for one thing or another..

The story and those pictures were hard to take in.

HUGE kudos to you for taking that animal in, I know it's in good hands for a drastic turn around :)

Thanks everyone for the kind words - the vet tech was so mad she couldn't see straight but she chose saving the thing before chasing the idiot that did it. I hope she'll make a good turn around. She hasn't hissed or struck at all. I clean her cage out every day, she's in a room by herself and obviously a cage by herself. She LOVES her heat pad. Luckily it seems to all be cuts/scratches and nothing like a respiratory or mouth rot.

Any suggestions for getting off eye caps?

My ball never bite me but how come others bite their owner? Do you tong fed him thus the feeding response?

Sometimes it depends on the snake, and feeding routines. I for one never feed in the cage, so they don't associate the cage opening with food. But there are alot of reasons why a snake could bite, maybe it was startled.

Actually it was entirely my fault - I was tired and careless. I worked a 10.5 hour day, came home, realized the rat cage had to be cleaned, did that, then noticed that the snake had tipped his water dish. Without thinking about the rat smell I just went in to clean up the mess and he mistook me for food. He let go immediately and it wasn't a big deal at all. I have had him for 6.5 years and he has never bitten before.

I feed all of my snakes in their cages as it would be a major PITA if I had to take all of them out to feed and then put them back. Also, I don't like having to move them right after a meal or when they are still in 'hunt mode'. This was the first issue I've ever had and it was my fault for smelling like rat poo.
