Yup he made it home just fine! Thankfully I live VERY close to the lake so he was not in the bucket more than 10 minutes before I got him home and into the pond.

I was trying to start a little smaller but ya know........never look a gift bass in the mouth? Seriously there has been a small school of smaller bass hanging out right off the end of the boat ramp for the past week. I finally had a chance to go after them but the moved on and I could not find them.

I'll try to put some pictures up of the bass in the pond.

Anyone have any recommendations for my 8x4 foot pond? Will another bass of this size work? I've kept and bred a lot of different cichlids but uncharted waters for me with a bass of this size. Blue gills are most likely out as I have no idea where to get any.

There are most likely blue gills in the same waters you caught that bass.

That is not always the case, some ponds only have bass and catfish in them. Theres one by my house that has only largemouth bass and bullheads and crappie. and I think that 1 or 2 more that size would be good for the pond. Just my $.02

I stated that being under the assumption that the bass was not caught in a pond, but rather in a body of water such as a lake or river.

Very true it would be very strange for a lake to not have any bluegill or even any sunfish in it.
