Thank you hiro
Size I do not care.
I need to look at camera that if I am serious getting into photography it can do it with out buying a whole new camera setup. and what brands are good and bad not putting anyone on the spot.
I was looking for help out there that differant ones used differant ones and can tell what to start to look at.

Let's start from scratch...what kind of budget are you looking at?

Grr...nevermind. Just went through the thread and there's a figure there =(. Read Ed's post below. Definitely consider the 300D if you're looking for a DSLR, since it fits right into that price range. If you're looking for a P&S and would like some video abilities, you might want to take a look at the Canon G6 also.

Well if you are serious, you gotta narrow down the choices and research it. Your budget from the earlier post and your "serious" interest imply that you are looking at DSLRs, right? In that case, it's almost exclusively Canon or Nikon. And, yes, people who own those specific brands, will recommend their preferred brand. There are a lot of Canon vs. Nikon discussions on this forum, you should look through them.

Your starter DSLRs would be Canon 300D (soon to be replaced) at around $700, Canon 350D (the replacement that is not out yet) at about $899, Nikon D70 at around $900-1000, or Canon D10 at around $900. Canon 300d is the lowest "street price" one, and will get even less expensive as the Replacement 350d rolls out in a month or two, but it's a great camera, one I have used for the longest time now, until earlier this week. It does not compare on the higher end features to D70 or 20D, but it's still SO MUCH better than any Consumer or Pro-sumer camera you can buy.
