New BGK

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine eats anything...frozen bloodworms and frozen Mysis, pellets, worms from the garden, bits of thawed prawns, you name it. He is a pig. I find the best way to have your cake and eat it too is to prop a piece of slate against the side of the tank (inside, obviously) as the hiding place. He feels comfortable and you can watch him all you like.

Mine eats everything too. He will steal tilapia from my clown loaches even. At one point I did the slate cave idea you just explained. I think I may try it again since I got rid of my driftwood stump...hmmm

So he has died. My guess is from starvation. I tried brine shrimp, shrimp pellets, and blood worms. He never ate...

I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes they just aren't very hardy or can't adapt. I recommend trying another one to see how it works out.

I lost my 9" bgk a few days ago but I will get another one soon. I like them too much.

Make sure that the bgk is getting periods of no / low light. Mine hides in the day.
Roams and feeds under dim red light. Feed them at night of possible after making sure the other fish where fed earlier.
