new bichir pic from D's room

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
the lack of the 'characteristic' black pectorals would argue against teugelsi. But personally i think the possibility of teugelsi is still there since its possible the jet-black pectorals are not as characteristic as they seem. anyway, if we know the locale, that'd probably give us a better clue. do you think its the same individual as this pic below? if it's not teugelsi, i'd say it's some unknown palmas ssp.

looks like the same specimen to me Ricky. where did you get that pic? i was having a rough time reading the text from the translator from D's room. i dont know if it says what area that bichir came from.

the pic was taken from the website that i presume has the fish for sale. if you scroll down to where d's room first posted two pics of this fish, below the pic is a link to the vendor website. The pic isn't on there anymore though. i guess d's room never mentioned the locale, not even when the first pics were posted, and i'm with you in that i couldn't figure out the translation on the latest update lol

only thing i know about this specimen is that its 54cm, and the vendor website did list it as teugelsi when it had the pic up.

THAT BICHIR LOOK'S SWEET TAKE CARE OF THAT COOL LOOKING GUY.... TRY TO POST MORE PIC'S WHEN YOU GET A CHANCE.... :headbang2

I'd say it's the same fish... the pattern is very similar. I really doubt that is a hybrid.

What else makes me point towards Teugelsi is the yellow belly.

1ra8der, nobody on this forum owns that fish, we're just admiring from a distance. But you can bet there would be a flood of pics if someone did.;)
