New blood parrot very scared

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I wouldn't worry too much, the good thing about parrots is that due to their mouths the damage they can inflict is limited. Try adding more hiding spots so they can each have an ornament, mine did the same thing but have resolved it and are now a team lol.

I'll try that wood piece again. Unless both of them start slipping into cardiac arrest together like last time lmfao

Embrace it man, like what you like.

What size is he in again? I'd think maybe even upping it to 3-4 bp's would be okay, depending on your goals for the tank. I have heard mixed opinions that they feel better having others around them.

I have to say, your advice was a huge help. Not only did they stop fighting, but they're following each other around now and getting use to the drift wood! Both are about 3 inches. I'm planning on having a blood parrot theme tank with one Raphael catfish to clean up after them. My goal is to have quite a peaceful, playful tank with little competition over food. Not sure how many more BP I should get though

What are the tank dimensions? I'd be tempted to do a third BP, but you'd have to be on top of the water changes with good enough filtration.

well just cause it's a catfish it doesn't mean it'll be cleaning up things. Varies from species to species and raphaels, from my best guess (never kept em personally), I'd say they are binge eaters that lay around til food comes by. They aren't like corys, for example, that actively eat mulm all day every day.

Shoot. I guess I assumed that all catfish would clean tanks like plecos do. Maybe I'll just stick with BP only. It will be easier on my dad when he cares for me once I head to college in 2 years
