New "Blood Parrot"

What I think has been happening is they have stopped culling the fish from where ever that Petsmarts fish wholesaler get the parrots from. I have seen an incredible amount of deformed parrots and now I am seeing some with veija colors.
As for what mine will turn out to be I'm not sure, if you look at one of my earlier post I showed my female parrot that I got from the same tank months ago. She had the black stripes too and is now turning orange.

Thats actually a fact. Blood parrots come from line breeding Syn and Midas. The Syn. traits come through more on fish like King kong parrots and rose queens. These fish all carry the same genetics, just bred for different traits.
Viejs Syn. arent stripped like this. Your LFS probably just gets low quality fish from a parrot wholeseller that just cares about making money. Thats typical.

Its Petsmart. All the Petsmart I have been to sell the larger orange parrots and they sell the juvie bottom of the batch parrots and thats what mine is.
If the stripes make it have convict in it then this parrot should have it too and it looks like it has no convict in it.
This female had the juvie stripes too and is now losing them slowly.

Hate to break in to your thread here,but what do yo feed a BP. I bought a large tailless one a my lfs(naturally tailless) and she seems to be retarded or something, she doesnt even go look for food. I have her in w/a male SB FH and he eats like crazy and she just swims around. She has a crooked mouth and 1 cheek is fatter than the other. So pathetic I had to buy her-lol
