New blue carpentis help sexing?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That's a nice looking fish! I'm really diggin' how the blue stands out against the darker background color of the fish. Most likely due to your choice of darker substrate. Well done!

Just an update sadly he’s passed away I’m it quite sure what happened, he developed a parasite and stopped eating I treated him with metroplex and he seemed to be getting better for abit but then one morning I notcied he was floating around lifelessly like he had no control of his body, I put him in a quarantine tank and euthanized him with clove oil so he didn’t suffer anymore, I’ve never seen anything kill a fish so quickly checked the water afterwards and parameters were fine so Idunno what happened

Sorry to hear that you lost him. That sucks. Suddenly not eating can be many things in case this situation ever occurred again. Internal parasites usually come from feeding live foods. I don’t use live food unless I breed the food. A sudden change in PH or water temperature can stop a fish from eating. Another thing is stray electrical current from a shorted out heater or water circulation pump. Again, sorry you lost him, just trying to help you hopefully not have this happen again.

Yeah it’s really got me stumped I can’t figure it out, ph was the same no changes to the tank, never fed live food, and as far as I know the heater is working fine , thanks for the possible reasons though it’s very strange , I’m thinking it was a dormant parasite that might have gotten very strong as of late

Any changes happen recently, hot/cooler temp, air quality, any insect killer/perfume or chemical used near the tank, influx of loud noises, any introduction of any new things (decor, gravel food, tank mates etc ) is the tank or anything In used it , could it have been cross contaminated with another seemingly health tank, was the lfs keeping it in bad conditions?
