New BNP...how to get them to eat veggies?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Imagine they may also eat some while you're not looking. I've seen mine eat cucumber which is pretty much not nutritious at all..but did not see it eating zucchini I put in.
I'm still worried about it. :( Also want to make sure mine is eating well. He certainly likes to take the cories shrimp pellets.

put the slice of Zucchini, cucumber, melon, apple, sweet potato, roman lettuce on a clip in the same spot at the same time everyday, leave the skin on they love it, mine go to town every time it hits the tank, don't blanch it either, the firmer the veggie the better, if it's too ripe or mushy most of the time they will not eat it I have found with my 30 odd BNPs. and make sure you have Driftwood in the tank for them too, they graze on it.

About the driftwood....where to get it ready to drop into the tank?

I have had several BNs both small and large. I used to feed my babies the stems of broccoli. They wrecked that stuff. Also did Zuccs and Cucumber.

picked up a albino BNP, he warmed up to the tank quickly. Only saw one of the plecos eat the squash I put in there. The second black pleco hardly leaves his hiding rock...ever....
