Onward an upward though. I don’t have the same bond with this guy yet but I’ve grown him from 3”-4”. I’m hoping he will take her place one day. He is right around 16”-18” now. Odin:

Are there advantages of using pond hose? I guess you need to get some sort of adapter to connect the 1 in hose to the 1.5in ultima inlet
Justin's threads always make me feel this way. Only ones that really do it for me.
Use a reducer bushing x hose barb. Easy peezy. You can set the pump in the tank. Makes for an immediate cycled tank which is pretty valuable to most of us.
The quick disconnects on Laguna pumps make it easy to swap pumps. I run the 2900 on the 1000. The swap to the 4300 model to backwash.

The younger one is in his butthole teenage years banging tanks and chasing rays off the front panel. So he has a ways to go on the whole "peaceful room thing" lol.. He'll get there though. The 500 is a new tank to him.
So far I've managed to hold out for a while, I believe the season for them is coming up in the next few weeks so I'll be grabbing one then. Timing should probably work well. Current tank of 150 gal is overstocked already, working to get a 360 gal up so it'll be nice to have some room.
Good to know they do have a feisty stage though. I'll have to keep that in mind!
