I rescued a monster butti today!
Housed in a 75 half filled with water, one filter, the tank wasn't cleaned in 6 months. He was gorged on feeders. Poor guy is really overweight, slight case of hole in head and this what seems to be cyst under his chin from what I think is from digging through dirty gravel in a disgusting sewage filled tank.
I had a 8" jd in my 80G high and a 10" oscar in my 135, so I divided my 135 for the Jd and O and gave the butti the 80. I know they SHOULD have 100+ gallons. But right now its better than hes ever known. He has a full clean tank to swim in, bigger than his last, i added some aquarium salt and melafix he seemed so happy, once i acclimated him he just swam up and down for hours. He's easily a foot and weighs about 3-4 pounds. Hes huge, these pics don't do justice.
