ive always wanted one of these. but there diet always held me back.
for the future you could probably order offline in bulk. maybe find them frozen for easy storage?
depending on the type of snail they need you could possibly breed some. i know when i had a fish tank it got over run with snails over night haha.

They're supposed to be fairly easy to convert onto other things once they're feeding. I can get snail meat at asian grocery stores pretty easily.
Keep it hot and humidity high. He will be ok!

Thanks for the info. How long did yours take to settle in? Mine was direct from Peru, so he's been through a lot in the last week.
Unless you want to buy Snails for the next umpteen years, don't feed it Snails........
Give it some time - They'll eat anything, and I would suggest feeding it whatever is easiest for you.......Otherwise you'll deal with target fixation and get rid of the thing within a few months when Snails get hard to find.......They aren't picky at this point.....

This is what u should do... Let him settle in. Raise temp and humidity. Don't try to hold him. About 2-3 days. Buy the frozen food I mention. Get u a apple snail frozen in the Asian marget grind it down really good , then spread the grinded apple snail into the CARNIVORE CARNAGE this will make him go after the food. Make sure u use a tong don't drop it in the water. Do this for two days then gradually take the apple snail away.

AND ALSO CAYMAN LIZARD WILL EAT NOT JUST APPLE SNAIL....here is what I feed mine..(mouse) once a month , shrimp, crabs, snails, fish, ground turkey etc...
THEY ARE NOT HARD TO TAKE CARE OFF . BUT NOT BECAUSE THEY EAT ANTHING U CAN FEED ANYTHING. Just follow what I told u.

Unfortunately I'm not sure if we can get Carnivore Carnage in Canada, I'll have to look into it. Thanks for the advice!
