Great start, Mike. In my experience, the best fish pictures come from using strong/bright tank lighting and a high ISO without the flash. This usually shows the most accurate/true coloration of the fish. As for flash photography, using a remote flash above the tank will give you the most clarity and sharpness if you're going for that look. Best of luck and enjoy the new DSLR!
