Wow, sorry you lost such an amazing fish. Looks like the super super sized version of my parrot doradids.

Pardon the derail but what are parrot doradids?

Max out around 4in. Their eyes are quite small and further back than what looks like an eyespot in the second picture. Picked them up by chance.

Sorry for your loss bro, he must really have been part of the family after that time and at that size.

Sad update on this guy. Named him Stanly, he passed away yesterday.

Wow, I am truly sorry for your loss and sorry to see the thread end, or are you going to give a new Ripsaw a go?

Rhynchodoras woodsi, Aqua-imports had some not long ago. Very similar in many ways to Rhinodoras gallagheri and dorbignyi but as fishguy1978 fishguy1978 said, stays on the small side

No, this fish gets way to big. Even in the 1100 it was just out of place. I’m actually looking forward to my restocking options. Obviously I’m not happy it’s gone but a new chapter is starting for the 1100.

Not sure? But that’s part of the fun :)
If you're going with another Doradidae Lithodoras have turned out to be a pleasant surprise to us Dora fans as they seem to be very outgoing even when under 12 inches. However they to are on the large size but I also keep Rhinodoras dorbignyi which are nice Dora's too. I could've sworn Planetcatfish originally had them at around 9-10 inches SL but checking recently they have them listed now at 19 inches SL. I've got two pushing a little over 10 inches. I hope one day they look as nice as this guy, pic belongs to a gentleman by the name of Mark Goh

Regardless I can't wait to see the direction you take the 1100 in and wish you good luck with it.
