It sure looks like the one on there..you may be be absolutely right..thank you.

everything i have looked at has brought me back to you are correct.. so unless someone can tell me something significant i would have to agree with you....

These are some pictures of the synodontis Ocellifer... pretty accurate to me..

"Really? Of what two fish?"

It's difficult to say; european hormone-bred hyrbrids come in mayn, many different varieties. Definitely looks like an ocelliferx? hybrid.

Firstly, the back is slightly humped/ inclined, with a notch prior to the base of the hard dorsal. Secondly, the eyes of the fish in question are coppery (as opposed to deep brown) though really, eye color and hybridization bear a weak link, so this may not be the case here. Third, true ocellifer have distinctly marked lone and paired fins, while your fish has none of these markings (this is generally the big warning flag for all ocellifer hybrids--especially, the dorsal).

Sadly I saw some differences but didn't think anything of it. Also the hybrids on planetcatfish are barely described or have an actual illustration.:(

If at all possible could you post a picture of the real Ocellifer so i could actually see the differences..very interesting.
