To see my spotted, i walk into the room the tank is in in pitch black dark, got the room's layout memorized so i don't trip, and then with a dimmed flashlight watch him cruise around the tank.
if i turn any light on him longenough he hurries back to his hide which is inside a pice of drifgtwood that has almost neutral boyance, floats under water.
Your lucky to see your guy move. I've NEVER seen my guy swim even when we had a moonlight on the tank and sat quietly watching the nocturnal crowd. He's not dead, so he must eat at some point.
, but thats why i change my tank layouts every month or so, to spice it up...
