so what is ideal water temp for pictus...my tank is also around 78-79 deg..and never had ick or anything...lov my pictus only thing is when they get around bigger they lose there markings...just look grey but very active

Hmm.. that sounds wierd to me..

The only time mine lose color is when they are stressed and they havent stopped moving. You may have the 4 line pictus that is commonly sold as a pictus. Theyre color faded when they get older and they sit still too..

well, the three have been in the tank for about 13 hours now and are doing well. they still arent taking food, but i hope that changes by tomorrow. wish me luck!
 
Nice, can only imagine the chaos that will be your 30g tank. I have a single(4 line) that is 6" in a 55g. He is the terror of the tank and leaves all other fish unsettled.
 
nice to see that you got your catfish in :D fatten them up with cichlid gold.. lol my pimelodus blochii eat these and they look healthy as every!! good luck
