So I've been looking at my cichla trying to find the differences between them and being no expert myself, I see no differences. mjuniorc says one of them is 99.9% mono, and silverdragon and boosten audi I think said the same. But I see no differences in him and the 2 I just bought from snookn21 as "ocellaris". The O's look lighter, and my mono has a little more red on his fins. Are those the only differences as juvies? Anyway, time for the pics.

im thinking they are possibly ocelaris.. how big are they? i dont see an scribble pattern between their bars

They're about 4". I've googled for pics of juvi ocell, and juvi mono. Not to many results tho... It's not a biggie, I just want to get more and I don't want to end up with a tank full of the same fish...
The only diference I see between the two types in your pics, is head shape. The "mono" has a longer snout.
i see...two ocells and one mono. the mono, i think, is the one with the red on it's tail. My mono had the red on it's tail at 4 inches. But still, GET MORE!!! looking good healthy and thick.
