Got 4 of these cichla today marked as orinos. But they look nothing like the orino I had in the past and I even asked owner if he's sure and he said 100% percent and wild caught and even showed the invoice they came in under. Anyway he gave good price for 4 and I bought them but just can't help but think these are hybrid. Maybe mono/orino? Either way I like them and so far doing great. Let me know your thoughts and thanks.

Negative. The vertical bar runs back to the tail. Could be part orino. But definitely a mut. He needs to contact his supplier because he's being given the wrong info

This is one of my big orino. Don't remember him looking like these. But contacted seller today and he says they are from Columbia and wild caught. But who knows I'm just gonna grow em and see how they turn. But thanks for confirming hybrid.

Two in the photo are Rio Meta. Yeah they may have orino trait in them. But a dead give away for any orino while young, is that horizontal bar won't enter the tail fin and all. It will stop and the end of the actual body

Here's a pic of my O's at 2". The one to the far right is a Kelberi. Yours look like O's but slightly different compared to mine.

Kelberi w/ another Kelberi so I thought but it's not. They both look alike at 2" but if you look at the one below, the line goes straight through it's ocelot. That one turned out to be an Occeleris hybrid! Kinda disappointed but oh well.
