So my tank cracked and lost all my fish (managed to save 1 very large pleco). Tank had only cichlids-oscars, green terrors and convicts. Got a much bigger tank now 470 litres(125 gallons)...wanna restock with oscars and green terrors but also want some other non cichlid fish as well. I was thinking silver dollars, redtail or bala sharks and clown loaches but i never kept these fish before and I'm not sure if it will be a good fit. And advice if this will work and on other tank mates that might work well?

First id say no for oscar if you dont plan to upgrade to a bigger tank. They will outgrow 470L quite quick. GT will work in that tank. Maybe an pair GT and a 5-6 silverdollars. Redtail as in redtail catfish? If so it will outgrow that tank in less than 6 months. They grow fast as hell and eat ****loads of food. Balasharks are really nice when they reach some size. But they grow quite slow imo. So if choosing balas make sure they are quite big when you get them.

An oscar could live in a 470 litre tank, that’s a 125 which is a great tank for an oscar

Have you ever seen an 35-40cm oscar? Well i have in an tank with roughly 7000L and they are not small at all. They get that big without a problem. Ive kept 3 30cm oscars in an 540L and that was small for them. Lets face it oscars get big and need big tanks.

here is the tank i was talking about thats has about 7000L of water. Take a look at those oscars and tell me that whey would do great in a 470L tank.
