New Cichlid Purchases

Drove down to Portland, OR and went to the best fish store in the Washington/Oregon area, The Wet Spot. They have the best selection of freshwater tropical fish I have seen. I got:

1.5" Trimac (I hope) for $10
2.5" Chocolate for $7
2.5" Discus for $30

I couldn't get a good picture of the of the chocolate because hes hiding and the I didn't get a picture of the discus because he acclimating and so the lights off (really don't want to stress it right). Better pictures tomorrow.

I know, I also hope its a male! I was like I want a flowerhorn but the ones they had were crap so I figured I'd get the original.

I'm happy because the discus is still alive and the crayfish.

so now u have in your 75 1.5" Trimac, 2.5" Chocolate,2 Oscars, 4 Blood Parrots, 2 Firemouths, 2 Convict, 1 Green Terror, 1 Green Severum, 1 Geophagus, 2 Pictus.

The Wet Spot is nice if you like community fish. Their CA/SA cichlid selection is pretty weak compared to A Place For Pets in Burien, Washington.

I really hope you don't have that discus in with those other fish, or by itself. They need to be in groups with other discus.

Its still loads better than some of the lfs I have seen.
If you notice the discus has a different back ground and the chocolate/trimac have no background on the tank. So yes they are in separate tanks, also look at the gravel.

No in the 75 gallon I have:
1 oscar 8"
4 blood parrots 3.5-4.5"
1 geophagus 3"
1 convict 1.5"
1 pictus cat 4"
1 common pleco 3.5"
1 trimac 1.5"
1 chocolate 2.5"

I should have a 125 by the end of the year and I' gonna get another 55 off craigslist. I keep the nitrates under 30ppm. I also plan on giving away some of my others like the green terror.

add another filter or something to knock your nitrates down a bit

I had a second 55 but my little brother kicked his shoe into it and well you can figure the rest.... I'm gonna give away the green terror, severum, the female firemouth, and probably the oscar.
