new clown knife

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Mine was killed a few months ago... Mostly my own fault... I'm on the look out for a good-sized one thats up for adoption somewhere close though for my 220g.

I really like the spots on yours, looks great. A 75g will probably be fine for awhile, you'll get some time out of it, but you'll have to upgrade sooner or later. I'd start looking now, he'll be huge before you know it

Make sure you provide a nice cave or pipe for him. They like having it for protection. You can train them to eat anything, but mine like bloodworms and brine shrimp.

very nice looking CK ! once mine reached around 10" i took him off feeders and to tilapia cubed.once he was larger i moved him over to massivore and give shrimp, tilapia as treats.

I luv my Royal Clown Knife. He's the best! He is around a foot long. He hangs out with my adult birchir, medium sized peacock eel and central american catfish. I have plenty of live plants at the bottom and top of tank and drift wood to give hiding places for everything. I also house ghost shrimp and guppies in that tank for them to eat on and every now and then I will throw in some small gold fish and some small crappy minnows in there for them to eat. I also use frozen scallops and shrimp that I get from Walmart and I just thaw them out and cut them up into small chunks and he loves them too. Just some suggestions for you. Good luck!!!

Won't hurt to try. I can't hardly tell how big your clown is from the pics. Looks to be about 6", more or less. They could be a lil too big. I would try the smaller feeders for now, such as the rosy feeders. They are probably the perfect size for him. They are usually a couple dollars for a dozen. A dozen should last you a week for the size of your clown. Try it out and let me know if it works for you.
