Hey guys, just got this little guy for cheap to see if it will cohabitate with my young electric catfish. I chose this cause in the big tank of many many convicts varying in size and colour etc,
this guy not only had red fins, but an orange face, and orangey kind of colour to his body not to mention a few irridescant blue flecks on his flanks.
I was wondering if anyone could tell me what hes crossed with?
thanks

thanks for your input Jimmy but i´ve kept all morphs of convicts over the years and I´ve never seen one like this before, bare in mind with most convict crosses the convict genes are usually much stronger, for all I know this guy could fade, hes only 2" right now. unfortunately the pics never show the colours as good as real life.

Wow clowny I think you´ve just solved the problem entirely, it DOES look like a honduran redpoint. I know you can get some which are a silvery frosty colour with lots of blue but there are lots of pictures that look like my fish...

It looks like a straight up convict. Ive had lots that looked like that. Its a nice one.

Thanks Amber, hes actually changing as the day goes on, the last black bar on his body stretches completely through his dorsal and anal fin now to make a complete C shaped curve black streak. kind of like what you see in Midas and RD when theyre young. I´ll try and get another pic of him tomorrow when hes settled in.
