There is a big shopping area (suburban mess of malls and chain stores) nearby where the cops use unmarked, untinted chevy malibu's around the holidays. Not the fastest cars, but not expected cops either. And there is usually tons of traffic anyways.

IMO they should only be allowed to use marked cars or a cookie cutter unmarked. none of this bull crap with all the cars i listed a page ago.

I always thought that they should use old taxi's. I take notice of the Dodge chargers now too.

Actually its the other way around. Alot of taxis out there are surplus police cars sold at auction.

the cops here have really nice dodge chargers that are all under cover. I think they would be mad if they got this ugly thing instead...

One of the reasons there are alot of unmarked vehicles in different varieties is because of the so called war on drugs. War on drugs legislation passed during the Reagan administration allows confiscated resources to be used by the confiscating agency. As a result agencies have saved money on vehicle purchases by using drug dealer cars. My local sheriffs department has an escalade and a hummer as a result of this.

ash and vicious, do u guys have problems with people(non cops) pulling other people over?

about every few weeks ull here about it. in one case a guy did this to a 18 yo female and stole her licence..... that crap happens so often around here and then they just keep adding to thier unmarked, non traditional cars. and they wonder why these people pull over for these morons

I heard about it on tv but not in my state.. and only once. Plus they have a program where you dont have to pull over right away you can call the deparment at a special number and ask them to radio the cop car and verify its a cop... if it is then you can pull over and you dont get introuble for that ... if its not obviously keep driving and have them send a cop. You can also drive to a well lit/crowded area if you don't feel save without getting introuble.

true, but ur gonna tick off a cop if you dont pull over right away. like that football player who had the cop tryin to pull him over, he put on his 4 ways to say he accknowledged to officer bu the kept goin because his mother in law was about die. the office was still a huge douche and the guy didnt get to see him mother in law before she passed bespite the fact that he tryd to explain the issue.

and the guy ackowledged the cop. imagine if u kept goin, put ur 4 ways on and called to verify! you are gonna get a douche of a cop quick! and in some states u cant be on the phone while driven. so if ur calling an to verify its an officer you are gettin all other problems
